Now Let Me Fly was commissioned for the national celebration of the 50th anniversary of Brown v. Board through a generous contribution from Washburn University and was first produced by the Brown Foundation.

"Sitting in the darkened ECC auditorium, Denise Jefferson listened and resolved to fly high herself. 'Seeing it on stage made it real for me and probably made me more determined to finish my education,' the 40-year-old Aurora woman said."
